From summer fly-fishing to fall elk and mule deer hunts, our all-inclusive horseback excursions take you deep into one of Montana’s premier wilderness areas. You’ll travel by horse, stay in the backcountry, and focus on the experience while we handle camp, meals, and day-to-day details.
Summer Adventures
Do I need horse experience?
Absolutely NOT, our horses are exceptional and take care of the guests. They know what they are doing and we are confident you will enjoy every part of the horseback rides.
Do I have to fly fish?
No, although fly fishing is fun way to catch trout, spin fishing is quite successful as well. Also, if you’re willing to learn, we are great teachers and the fishing is so good that you can be a great fly fisherman in a matter of hours. Another Note: There are other activities if fishing isn’t your thing.
Do I need to bring my own fishing gear?
If you have fishing gear, great! Please bring it. If you do not have the right gear we always have plenty of gear in camp that you can use anytime!
What’s the camp set up like?
The guests will stay in 2-person teepee tents with floors, equipped with bed padding. There is an outdoor kitchen under a rain fly and a campfire set up to enjoy meals in nature. Chairs are available as well. We have a privacy tent with a toilet and another privacy tent with a gravity fed shower.

Do I need horse experience?

Is there fishing available during these trips?
Yes sometimes we are able to take a day and go fishing during the September Hunts.
How does the license process work for Montana?
You’re in luck! There’s no need to worry about this at all. I do all of the licensing process for you and I have been 100% successful in getting ALL of my clients drawn. You will be purchasing preference points and the Elk/Deer Combination License and these costs are NOT included in the price of the trip, but again I do the actual process for you after getting all your information.
Can I purchase any other tags?
Yes, there are black bear and wolf tags available over the counter. I suggest all my hunters get a wolf tag as it is very cheap and worth having. (Wolves are rare, but you never know). Black Bear tags are a good idea (if you want) for at least 1 member of your group on any hunts before November 15.
What is the camp set up like?
Camps are big base camps with all the necessities. We have 4 person wall tents for the guests that have plywood cots and wood burning stoves as well as a lantern. There is a larger wall tent that has the kitchen and dining area in it where the cook serves up delicious home-cooked meals. The crew have their own wall tents. There is a privacy tent with a nice set up toilet. We have a corral system and tack room for the horse area. We have a fresh mountain spring that provides us fresh water where filtering is unnecessary!
Predator Hunts
Where do I stay?
You will stay in the local Hotel here, Stage Stop Inn in Choteau, MT. This is not included in the price of the hunt but this hotel offers discounts to my clients and is a very nice place.
Do I need to rent a car if I fly?
No, we provide transportation from the airport to the hotel and also transportation each day during the hunt. We pick you up right from the hotel.
Are meals provided?
The hotel has a complimentary breakfast, and we provide a sack lunch for you each day. Supper is on your own.
