We are so excited. Our oldest daughter, Amanda and her husband Jake have moved back to Montana. They live about 30 miles from us on a place they bought with 40 acres, a nice home, barn and big shop. I think their horses are glad to be back in Montana as well. Jake is manager of the sporting goods department at the Big R store in Great Falls. Amanda, who is an elementary education teacher, is now a stay at home mom with our three year old grandson, Ryder, and our grandaughter Dally Lee who turned one on September 1, 2007 We are sure enjoying having them so close.
Ryder is proving to be quite the little cowboy. He competed at his first rodeo this year in barrel racing. Auntie Hanna led him around the barrels on her rope horse Bentley.
Our son, Colter, is 23 years old. He is a certified farrier and a professional bronc rider. He attended Montana State University for construction engineering on a Rodeo Scholarship, but took time off to pursue his dream of participating in the NFR in Las Vegas. With his great talent I'm sure he will make it. He is a member of the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association and the Northern Rodeo Association. Colter loves to play his guitar, snow ski, hunt. Growing up as our number one fishing guide he now guides for us during our hunting season and has taken over one of our hunting camps. He looks forward to becoming more involved in the business as time goes on.
And of course our youngest daughter, Hanna, certainly keeps us busy! Thirteen and a TEENAGER! She is in the 7th grade She is turning into such a beautiful young lady. Still in love with all of her animals and life in general, we enjoy the sunshine she has brought to our family. She is very athletic and maintains a 4.0 in school. She started rodeoing at the age of 8 and continues to compete in Barrels, Poles, Goat Tying, Team Roping and Breakaway Roping, winning her first of several buckles in all events this year
She also competes in Rodeo Queen contests and has held a different title the last four years, winning her fifth title this year as Little Miss Big Sky Pro Rodeo. Between 4-H, Baptist Junior High Youth Group, community service projects, rodeoing, volleyball, piano practice, queening and whew.... everything, she sure keeps us busy and young.
Raising our family in the outfitting business has been a great way of life. Our kids have been involved in the business from cooking to packing, from guiding to entertaining. We have met wonderful people from all over the world forming many lasting friendships. We invite you to join us on one of our safaris and share in all of the friendship and fun we have to offer.
Ryder turned three September 24. He sure loves his new little sister, Dally
Hang on, Little lady.... I'll give you a ride on my bull!
On his way to winning the NRA finals last February. He won all three rounds and the average!
Meiko sit still and hang on! I hope my horse rides double.
